For 2022, Accor unveils a wide range of spectacular new addresses

Accor is pleased to present some of the new properties and upcoming destinations that guests and travelers around the world will be able to discover this year. Many of the world’s most fascinating cities (London, Doha, Moscow, etc.) will welcome several new Accor hotels in 2022, while various Group brands will move into unexpected or unexplored exotic locations, such as Pangkalan Bun (Indonesia), Copenhagen (Denmark) or Casco Viejo (Panama).

“Accor is convinced of the power of diversity, both among our staff and our customers and within our brands,” said Sébastien Bazin, Accor Chairman and CEO. “We are constantly rolling out new concepts and exciting new places to discover. With more than 300 hotels and resorts ready to open this year, our many loyal customers around the world are sure to find inspiration for their next trip.”

More than 300 new destinations to discover around the world

One of the most anticipated openings of the year is the Raffles London at The OWO. This architectural masterpiece occupies the historic Old War Office, the iconic Whitehall building that has been home to Britain’s greatest statesmen, including Winston Churchill, and Her Majesty’s most famous spies, like Ian Fleming. The final touches are being put on this monumental transformation, which will offer 120 rooms and suites, 85 unrivalled Raffles residences and 11 exceptional restaurants and bars.
The North West of England will be home to Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village, which will be Liverpool’s premier hotel. With more than 220 rooms spread over 16 floors, this flagship hotel will be one of the most popular meeting places for tourists and residents of this city of music and culture, with its superb pubs.

The strength of the Accor network in Europe continues to be reinforced by recent and upcoming openings, including the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, the Mercure Amsterdam North, the ibis Styles St. Margrethen Switzerland, and the Mercure Hotel President Lecce and MGallery Cagliari Palazzo Tirso in Italy. Paris remains a city dear to Accor’s heart: the Group has its headquarters there, is a partner of the Paris Saint-Germain soccer club, and is supporting the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be held in the French capital. In 2022, Accor will welcome newcomers to the outskirts, including the MGallery Issy-les-Moulineaux Domaine de la Reine Margot and the Paris Vincennes greeting.

Across the ocean, North America is looking forward to the opening of the continent’s first Raffles later this year. The Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences, located in the prestigious Back Bay neighborhood, will occupy a 35-story building with 146 residences, 147 guest rooms and six dining spaces, including a sky bar and speakeasy. Its striking three-story lobby will be the first of its kind in Boston.

The Middle East is another region that Accor is focusing on, especially as the 2022 World Cup in Qatar approaches. The Group, designated as the official accommodation provider for visitors, will provide the staff necessary to manage and operate more than 60,000 apartment rooms and villas throughout the Gulf state. Accor will also expand its Rixos portfolio in Qatar and throughout the region with the upcoming opening of Rixos Doha Qetaifan and Rixos Obhur Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Rixos Jewel of the Creek in Dubai, U.A.E. The Group will also introduce a number of lavish new addresses throughout the Arab world, including Raffles Doha and its sister hotel, the Fairmont Doha, as well as Banyan Tree AlUla in the Asher Valley, Saudi Arabia, and Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé, Morocco.

In addition, Accor is delighted with the opening of its first property in Denmark - the ibis Styles Orestad Denmark, on the outskirts of Copenhagen; this is the Group’s first hotel in this wonderful Scandinavian country.

Finally, as lifestyle is one of the fastest-growing segments of the global hotel industry, Accor, through its joint venture with Ennismore, will continue to develop its main dedicated brands, including Mondrian, SLS, The Hoxton, Morgans Originals and Mama Shelter. The most significant openings in this category will be Mondrian’s first address in China, the Hong Kong Kowloon, a 324-room property with breathtaking harbor views; the first Maison Delano Paris, in the heart of the ultra-chic 8th arrondissement, just steps away from the legendary Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré; TRIBE Phnom Penh Post Office Square, which will bring its bold design to the Cambodian hotel scene; and Mama Shelter Dubai, an out-of-this-world Mama that replicates a resort in the heart of the city, with apartments, pools and an outdoor cinema.
