Sarah Derry appointed to the position of Managing Director Pacific

Accor was pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Derry as General Manager Pacific, effective since February 1, 2022.

Formerly Senior Vice President Talent & Culture, Sarah joined Accor in 2017 after more than 10 years of experience as a business leader. With more than 30 years of experience in the hotel industry with leading international hotel companies and after a strong start to her career in operations, Sarah is equally comfortable in HR related matters as she is in business, strategy and development.

As General Manager of Accor Pacific, Sarah will ensure that the Group continues its recovery towards growth in the Pacific, strengthening its brands, developing its loyalty program and bringing together the best talent in the region.

Sébastien Bazin, Accor Chairman and CEO, welcomes the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Sarah to the Accor Executive Committee as the new General Manager Pacific. She comes to this position with a wealth of experience and a unique understanding of the Group’s values and culture. Her strategic skills, gained during an impressive career in the hotel industry, will undoubtedly be a winning asset as we continue to grow in the region.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Simon McGrath for his great professionalism, dedication and involvement with Accor over the past 15 years. He has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the teams and to our Group, helping to grow Accor into the largest hotel operator in the Pacific, from 120 hotels to more than 400. He has introduced new brands to the market, including Pullman, Mövenpick, SO/ and ibis Styles, and led the successful acquisitions of Mirvac Hotels & Resorts and Mantra. His skills in creating and managing partnerships in the sports, entertainment and lifestyle sectors are unmatched. We wish her the best in the next chapter of her career.”

Commenting on her appointment, Sarah said, “I am very proud and excited to lead the Accor team in the Pacific as the industry begins to grow again. Delivering memorable experiences to our guests and loyalty program members, alongside our teams, remains our priority. I look forward to working closely with our owners, partners and industry colleagues.”
